Michelle, a thirty-year-old mum of three, animal lover and food enthusiast; joined the team at Ouma in late 2019.
Having discovered a natural ability for words just aged eleven, when she won her first recognised British poetry award, she has since gone on to develop her skills and is now a multi-published author and successful copywriter.
Over the last thirteen years, Michelle’s passion for writing has seen her produce work for various publications including men’s, women’s and parenting magazines alongside several culture, current news and political platforms including the Independent and the Guardian.
She has been a prolific contributor to well-known women’s content creator, Blog Her, and regular guest-speaker and presenter at the annual world-wide recognised Promo Day events – a conference that brings together published authors and writers from across the globe. Michelle occasionally partakes in online marketing fun ‘One Minute Briefs’ with her catchy slogans and punchy one-liners.
Outside of writing, Michelle has a brief background in broadcast media, becoming a radio presenter in the year 2008. Not content with just hosting regular shows, Michelle became the manager of former online radio station, Litetune, with an impressive regular listener count. Leaving her post here in 2013, to focus more on her personal life and then later welcoming the newest addition to her family, Michelle returned to working freelance shortly afterwards.
Developing a passionate interest throughout her radio career for indie music, in particular; Michelle continued to support lesser-known and unsigned artists by marketing their music through published interviews, podcasts and other promotional copy.
Making the decision to come away from her familiar freelance desk, she applied for the position of Copywriter at Ouma, as she was keen to work with like-minded creatives in an innovative and fun environment. Michelle is looking forward to working with brands and businesses she has yet to fully discover and is both excited and grateful to be a part of the team!
Ouma Director, Ross Jones, added; "We feel incredibly lucky to have stumbled upon Michelle. A gifted copywriter with a mind for creativity and an eye for detail, little did we know, but she was exactly what we were looking for.
Michelle will be working to develop our social media content strategies, as well as copywriting for blogs, press releases and much more. We're very excited to have Michelle on-board and cannot wait to see how she supports the vision of our business."
